The CHANGE lab researches various aspects of pediatric psychology and health disparities in adolescents, young adults, and their families, including but not limited to: a) health disparities in obesity and HIV; b) intersectional identities of race, gender, class, appearance, and sexual orientation; c) protective factors against stigma, discrimination, and co-occurring adversities of HIV, partner violence, substance use, and metabolic complications.
Lab tasks include but are not limited to:
- Helping develop interventions for stigma reduction and body appreciation in adolescent girls
- Literature reviews
- Data collection
- Data management
- Data coding
- Help with manuscript and conference presentation preparation
- Opportunities to attend lab meetings to discuss mixed methods research, pediatric psychology, and community based research.
